On the morning of 24 September 2025, a 50-meter deep sinkhole opened up on Samsen Road in front of the Vajira Hospital in Dusit district, Bangkok, Thailand. There were no injuries reported.[1] The opening was reported to be 900 square meters in size and 50 meters deep. The nearby Vajira Hospital announced that it would temporarily refuse patients following the incident.[2] Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt said that evacuations were underway and that power and water supply had been cut.[3]
Background: "Around 5am [prior to the road collapse], some people [had] spotted the uneven surface of Samsen Road but it was still passable", according to media.[4]
